What would happen if an navy soldier got late for work?

My husband is late for work this has never happened before hes an Aviation Structural Mechanic. He was supposed to go at 6am but he never heard the alarm ('cuz he was exhausted) and got up at 7am with a little Traffic he might end up at almost 8am. He was trying to report himself to the base but the call couldn't get trough. I'm worried, can they suspend him or get him punished...I dunno, Help!!!
