Briggs & stratton 18hp vacuum line hookup?

I have a snapper zero turn mower with a briggs 35077 motor, 18 hp, 2 cylinder, vertical shaft. I had to take off the carb to clean the gunk out the bowl. In the process there is a small black rubber vac line coming off the carb and connecting somewhere, i believe, under the flywheel cover. I pull the small line loose from wherever it connects under the flywheel cover, not to the carb. I have taken off the flywheel cover and can't seem to find where it goes. maybe someone can answer this question before i pull off the flywheel. On another note. on the top of the valve cover on the right cylinder, sitting on the mower, there is a barb for a hose to push onto, it's to big for this small vac line, but i was wondering if anything is suppose to on that barb. I didn't take anyting off of it and don't see any hose laying loose? if you can answer my questions you'll be a lifesaver. thanks.
